- Ragsdale High School's wrestling program has a rich history of success, particularly under the leadership of Coach Mike Raybon. Here are some highlights:
- State Championships: The team won three state championships during Coach Raybon's tenure from 1965 to 1984.
- Conference Dominance: They secured 14 conference championships and had seven unbeaten seasons under his guidance.
- Coach Recognition: Mike Raybon was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1997 and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2006.
- The school even dedicated the Mike Raybon Gymnasium in his honor in 2015.
